HR Officer, Job Ref. JO3264. Co. Donegal. Perm, FT Hours. Salary Circa €34,000. Our client is a highly reputable and successful Engineering company with a portfolio of clients stretching across Ireland, the U.K., Europe and the U.S.A. where they service and cater to the large scale industrial and commercial markets. Due to continued growth and the increase in their workload, they wish to appoint an experienced HR Officer to join their team. Responsibilities: Reporting directly to the HR Manager and working closely with the Senior HR Officer your duties will cover a diverse range of HR related responsibilities in a progressive and demanding manufacturing environment. Supporting the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems; Provide advice and guidance on HR issues whilst promoting company policies and practices; Work closely with department managers, increasingly in a consultancy role, assisting line managers / supervisors to understand and implement policies and procedures; Support and assist managers in recruitment & selection, disciplinary guidelines and grievance issues; Recruiting staff - this includes developing job descriptions, preparing advertisements, checking application forms, short-listing, interviewing and selecting candidates; Actively contribute to the development and revision of existing and new policies and procedures; Developing, with line managers, HR planning strategies, which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements in terms of numbers and skill levels; Maintenance of HR records and Time & Attendance database; HR administration duties including the management of Company work permit and visa application processes for European and Worldwide travel; Undertake HR projects as and when required. **The above serves to provide the main remit of the above position however other tasks commensurate with the role will be implemented as and when required** What we are looking for: A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a HR Generalist role at Officer level of advising and managing HR related matters – 2 years of which in a manufacturing / engineering environment; Chartered Member CIPD or above; Competent knowledge of Republic of Ireland and UK employment legislation; Competent IT skills - Excel, Word, Outlook; Preference will be shown to those with a HND or Degree in HR / Business related discipline and a working knowledge of HR based Time & Attendance systems.
