For full job description and details on how to apply: https://derrycityandstrabanedistrict.getgotjobs.co.uk/home.   KEY PURPOSE: Design, develop and project manage a wide range of Green Infrastructure projects aligned to Council’s Green Infrastructure Plan, Northwest Greenways Plan, Play Plan and Council Climate Change Pledge and Adaptation Plan and support the design development of the City Deal Regeneration Projects.   Support the Green Infrastructure Team in master planning and delivering a network of multi-functional green space and other green features, urban and rural, which can deliver quality of life and environmental benefits for communities.   Identify and source funding opportunities and develop partnerships for Council and stakeholder projects, programmes and initiatives and manage associated budgets as required.   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Create strategic concept and detailed Green Infrastructure masterplans and schematic illustrations/booklet publications for a wide range of Green Infrastructure projects to embrace the multi-functionality of green space to support a wide range of Green Infrastructure projects including the promotion of Active Travel, climate adaptation and mitigation measures such as SUDs schemes, urban greening, biodiversity net gain, carbon storage etc to enhance the natural capital of the City and District as a place to live, work and invest, supporting resident’s physical and mental health through the creation of quality green space.   2. Work as a key member of the GI Team, carry out research and site analysis to understand the strategic impact of site development on biodiversity, climate change, active travel, play, access to greenspace etc    3. Carry out analysis of chosen sites and their wider environment to explore development opportunities and define the main attributes of the greenspace.   4. Design, develop and facilitate engagement process with elected members, stakeholders and the local community, identify the most important design issues and build a broad consensus at the early stages of the development process.   5. Prepare illustrative masterplans with supporting images to bring proposals to life as an animation, communication and engagement tool. Designs to be of a high visual quality to secure planning, funder and community buy in to the project.   6. Develop networks, partnerships and liaise with stakeholders at a local and regional level and appraise Committee as and when required on Green Infrastructure design and masterplan developments.   The postholder should be aware that the responsibilities of the post may be subject to change as a result of organisational change.  The Council therefore reserves the right to change the duties of the post by adding to or amending the range of responsibilities.  The postholder will be required to be flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs and requirements of the organisation.        Closing date: 30/09/2021 16:00   Please note that this advertisement is being hosted by the Public Appointments Service on publicjobs.ie.
